Physical Education

Physical Education at Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School provides students with the opportunity to develop their movement, interpersonal and social skills, knowledge, game strategies, and confidence to enable them to effectively and positively participate in a wide range of sporting contexts. Students also learn about how the body moves, how to approach and resolve challenges, how to optimise movement performance, and the benefits of physical activity to themselves, others and communities.

From Year 7 through to Year 9, students cover a wide range of traditional sports plus Athletics in Term 3 leading up to our Whole School Athletics Carnival. In Year 10, the sports covered will vary from class to class depending on the interests of the student group and the resources available; all classes will still cover Athletics in Term 3.

Sport Development Program

The Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School Sport Development Program is a talent, behaviour and academic based opportunity for our Year 8 to 10 students. The program's aim is to engage our boys and girls in the classroom and reward them with the opportunity to represent the school in interschool games, tournaments and camps throughout the year. It is a privilege that is earnt through hard work and behaviour. The goal for our students involved in the program is for them to improve their skills, and behaviour, build leadership qualities and importantly experience success in the classroom.
