Faction System

Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School has four factions – Marlu (Red), Yilpa (Yellow), Lirru (Green), Karlaya (Blue). Students are allocated into each faction according to the letter that their last name starts with. Students with surnames that start with letters A through to D are in Marlu Faction, E through to K are in Yilpa, L through to R are in Lirru and S through to Z are in Karlaya. Students have numerous opportunities throughout the year to earn points towards their faction.
